  Questions About Organization
Why is OPDB free and open source?
We feel that tools to create great project documentation quickly are of vital importance to collaboratively solving problems, to education, and ultimately to a healthy future. We initially considered selling OPDB as a product, but decided it would be much more widely adopted if free and adaptable.
Who pays for OPDB development?
The founders cover many expenses out-of-pocket. We also depend on volunteer time and welcome donations.
Why not just use a Wiki?
Wikis are great in that they are highly flexible, but bad in that they don't provide enough structure. OPDB provides page structure for creating a project summary, and information architecture for automatically linking to project creators and resources. This allows users to create great project documentation faster than if using a wiki.
  Questions about OPDB software
How do we make use of Open Project Database?
OPDB is intended to be installed and maintained by an organization (i.e., school department, club, etc.) rather than individual users. The model is similar to that of a Wiki or a B-Board, where the installation is server-side, and the individual users access the application through their web browsers.
Can we customize Open Project Database?
Since OPDB is open source, technically you can modify anything you want. However, we have specifically architected the system to be easy to customize visually and easy to integrate into existing user-account systems.
My school/department already provides user accounts, is this going to be another package requiring my students to have separate login accounts?
We have built OPDB to support LDAP and Kerberos account systems. The integration is configured when you initially set up OPDB on your server. We are interested in supporting other user account systems in the future, so please send your request.
Can I run Google AdSense on my OPDB site?
Yes.
Can I run Google Analytics on my OPDB site?
Yes.
